A week ago, I wrote about how dreams are essential to hitting your goals. I believe I said something along the lines of “envisioning the future is the start towards building the future“. Meaning, if you want to go forward, you need to first dream about it…then plan it, then pursue it. You can’t just wish, and you can’t just dream – there needs to be a lot of doing involved too.
I also touched briefly about how most authors [probably] have those whimsical daydreams of their books becoming bestsellers and landing a movie deal. What author doesn’t want their book to be read, to be known, and having your book made into a movie is one way to do it, if only for the influx of readers who insist on “reading the book before the movie“. I sure do. I probably wouldn’t handle that process very well; I’m sensitive, remember? And according to my husband, I have a a type-A personality. I don’t want to say that’s true but…if the shoe fits?
Anyways, back to how I definitely do sometimes daydream about my books being turned into movies. I often wonder who would play my characters, and how it would “altered” to fit screen time or the directors image. Tonight, I’m participating in a fun takeover event that Lauren from Lauren’s Book & Media Club has organized.
The theme for The Big Event tonight is If My Book Was A Movie… I will be on from 10pm to 10:30pm CST (11pm-11:30pm EST). You’ll get to see who I “picture” playing the parts of my characters and where I envision filming for the hypothetical movie. Plus I’ve got lots of goodies lined up – giveaways, a sneak peek at my playlist, and more! I really hope you join me and the other incredible authors participating. Just click here (or the image above) and then click on the “join” button. I look forward to seeing you there!
P.S. Don’t forget to check my Facebook page daily for new giveaways! The ‘1000 Likes Giveaway Extravaganza‘ is still going strong, with new giveaways from other awesome authors daily until May 1st! Lots of chances to win. Share and tell your friends! 😉
