FINALLY, it’s release day!!
I feel as if I have been waiting a painfully long time to publish Damaged Goods, and that’s probably because I have waited a painfully long time to publish it. Seriously, I finished this book almost a year ago. I wanted everything to be perfect when I hit that publish button.
You see, the first time I wrote a book and published it, I sort of rushed the whole process. I didn’t really know what I was doing (like, at all) and I just wanted to get it out there. I felt like I couldn’t breathe without showing the world what I’d been working so diligently on, so I more or less vomited it up for all, much like a cat projecting a hairball before your feet and looking up at you as if you should be congratulating it. And, I mean, you should…because good cat, good job getting that hairball out, yanno?
I needed to get those stories out, and I bet if I waited until the absolute “perfect” time to press that scary, life-altering button – I wouldn’t have done it. I would have chickened out and sent Collide and Consumed straight into the recycling bin on my laptop – and that’s if I even bothered to write the sequel. How do I know? Because I’d done that like
seven three times before.
I wanted to take my time and present the best possible version of this novel. It’s so incredible close to my heart, and I swear I bled while writing Grayson and Everly’s story. I’ve never cried while writing a book before. Not with Collide, not with Consumed. Never did tears form in my eyes, but I definitely cried a lot over Damaged Goods. I cut out pieces of my heart and soul and smeared them all up in that book. You’re welcome.
Speaking of the whole “crying thing”; I do feel as if I have to reassure you before you dive into it; their story is far from over. In January 2015, I’ll be releasing the second book in the Damaged Series: Reckless Abandon.
*whispers* And I don’t want to alarm you, but I sort of cried even more while writing the sequel… 😉
Anyways, enough about me, time for the skinny on this not-so-skinny novel:

Everly Daniels can’t seem to fall out of love with Grayson Dixon.
Five years after locking eyes with him, Everly is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. He has a pull on her that she can’t seem to break, even if she wanted to. Grayson may be the love of her life, but he doesn’t make it easy. He has built walls around himself that only Everly can breach. But Grayson knows he is not the good guy. He’s reckless and careless, and even if Everly brings a little color into his life, he worries he will destroy her, and cares too much to let that happen.
She has always been the shy wallflower who is afraid to participate. But senior year, all that is about to change.
