To every last person who argues tirelessly about the importance of keeping Christ in Christmas: you have RUINED this magical season for me.
Stop right there, everyone else. The atheists, bandwagoners, the politically correct folks, and everyone who hates how Christians monopolize this holiday season: you have ALSO ruined this joyful month.
I’m tired of your arguments about how it “isn’t politically correct to say Merry Christmas”.
I’m tired of you Christ-in-Christmas folks acting like you invented the entire holiday. I’m pretty sure the Pagans beat ya there.
I’m tired of everyone around me being disgustingly over concerned with what everyone else is saying by way of greeting. It’s not what we SAY so much as our intention and our reactions. I don’t get offended when someone wishes me a “Happy Holiday” or “Happy Kwanzaa”, I just smile and feel happy someone took the time to wish me well…yet everyone gets so mad when someone greets them “wrong”. Two different reactions to the same greeting.
I’m tired of people getting offended and acting all outraged and personally attacked because someone else has the nerve to celebrate or believe differently than they do.
All of you uptight jackasses need to mellow and remember what this entire season, no matter your religion, is truly about: consumerism.
Just kidding. Sort of…that’s probably a whole other post on its own.
But seriously, this time of the year should be about how you treat those less fortunate and how you give back to the community. It’s a season of spreading love and happiness.
You should be kind and loving all year round of course, but the reason why it’s literally crucial to do so right now is because of how hard the winter months are for all of us. We need the warm, gooey goodness feeling that this entire season brings.
And we aren’t getting it with everybody arguing and complaining.
Could we stop with the back and forth and get back to what really matters?
