The last few months have been overwhelmingly challenging for me. I try to look on the bright side, to find the silver lining of things. It’s not always easy, though. Sometimes, life keeps shoveling shit at you and all you can do is try and deflect it, and truthfully…I haven’t been very good at deflecting it.
Due to a situation that I can’t really get into (and a bunch of drama that followed it, and still continues to follow it), my focus has been elsewhere and I have been beyond stressed out. I started November with the hope that I would participate in NaNoWriMo and complete Rebel Song. This situation caused me to take a step back from writing. I’m now trying to rejuvenate my head space and get back to my daily grind.
Two weeks ago, I decided that there was no better way to get back into things than to throw myself back into them, and so I decided to write a Christmas novella. Usually, diving into a new project is exactly what I need to get the creative juices flowing again when I’ve been feeling uninspired and stressed out. Thankfully, this method worked for me again, and I’m feeling more inspired than I have in months.
I’ve just finished writing the novella and I am so excited to release out into the wild within the next week or so. The cover is gorgeous, and I really hope you guys enjoy it. I wrote it mostly for you–my readers–but also because I needed to bring some Christmas magic into my life too, and what better way to do that than get Brock Miller in a Santa outfit?
But more about that later–and if you aren’t subscribed to my newsletter yet, you might want to do that now. 😉
